  2. do any of you either have plans to build or know a website that has plans for a airbrush paint booth? i am looking to build one in my basement but i don't have any plans on how to build one. thanks for your help biz

  4. ok, did a little searching and found this site... http://ipmsstockholm.org/colorcharts/stuff...orcharts_us.htm tis a cool little page that all the common USAF and USMC camo schemes from post 1939 it says that the tops and bottoms of USN are painted Light gull grey FS 26440 and White FS 27875 respectively are these correct? or should i still use dark/light grey and am i correct in saying that they are 36320 and 36375 respectively? biz
  5. what FS numbers would they be? and whats the best place to get them from?(ie, where do you people get them from)
  6. does tamiya make light + dark ghost grey? and if they do, what numbers?? i couldn't find either on squadron models
  7. hey you superbug experts out there....what colors would you suggest using to paint the two tone scheme on it...dark and light gull grey?? or a sea grey? also now to you viper experts...the standard two tone scheme..what colors? biz p.s. i know that someone at some point in time has probably asked this very exact same question...but i don't have time to go look at all 787 someodd pages..so i'm srry if im a little repeditive

  10. i guess they are new and i just happened to find them....im saying this because this is my first kit that i am actually trying to make look nice and the first time using resin...which is why i was asking my original question
  11. no, my F-18E set is #7239....http://www.hobbylinc.com/htm/hsg/hsg07239.htm is a site with the model.....the resin bays say #4282 on them....did i get something wrong? the aires parts said they were for a hasagawa 1/48 F-18E....so.....now im just confused biz
  12. I have a Hasagawa 1/48 F-18E with some Aires resin wheel bays. has anyone ever put these in on this model? or if not a f-18, has anyone ever used Aires wheel bays? i need to know if you have to take away plastic (as your looking from the inside of the model) on the sides of the bay of the bay and just effectively make a cut around the entire wheel bay? or do you need to just shave the wheel bay down from the inside and make it flush w/ the curve of the inside plastic? in short, will the resin piece before painting be showing (other than the inside detail which will obviously be showing) o
  13. you may think me crazy but being new to the world of super-detailing i'm still trying to learn stuff....someone please explain what a group build would entail? biz
  14. yea, could definitly use some help w/ the wheel bays.... are you supposed to sand away the front bay all the way to the outside of the model(when looking from inside) or just sand from the inside to make that flush with the rest of that piece? ie. is the resin piece supposed to completely REPLACE the plastic bay and be seen on the outside(before painting) or just sit inside and be detailing while the stock plastic supplies the shape of the bay to the outside world? also the main gear bays you are supposed to sand the inside edges of the bay(the side that touches the body of the jet) right?
  15. i recently got a 1/48 hasagawa F-18E super hornet as well as the aires wheel bays and cockpit sets and i have a few questions for the experts. i am wondering what is the best way to remove the molded wheel bays and if you need to completely remove the sides of the main bays or if u can just sand from the top down to where it is flush w/ the rest of the fuselage. any tips for the resin parts in general would be appreciated also, i plan to use the VFA-27 royal maces CAG bird decals which come in a number of seperate decals that all have to be put on flush to each otehr. should i just paint
