erwin
Hi all, Need some help from the vac specialists. I'm making a Guillows Me 109 scale 1/16 wooden plane. But,I'm using the wood parts as shapes to cut them from plasticsheet, and then I will cover the whole plane with thin plasticsheet. So, infact turning the wooden kit into a plastic one. How do you make the lines on the plane come out ? Using a pencil, marker,or what ? I can't scrib it because the plasticsheet is to thin and I would cut through it. Any ideas ? Greetings, Erwin
Grey Ghost 531
Would it be possible to use the lines between the different panel of plastic sheet? That is, make your pieces of plastic sheet the same size and location as the actual metal panels.
Lancer512
Hi! I am just buliding a vacuform MD-11 and rescribed all the panel lines with the Squadron scribing tool. Works great! As a guide I am using leader card splicing tape. It is thinner than Dymo tape, but thicker than most clear films, like scotch tape.
EF
I think you should go with the pencil lines. That's what I do with my vac kits, It is easier and faster and even better if you plan to use thin plastic sheet. See my 1/72 KC-10:
