1/28 th Revell : Fokker D VII.

Hi all,

I just noted that a WW-1 GB will begin on 1 St July.

So I dug this one from under the dust...

Has anyone build this kit and can tell me the pro's and contra's ?

If I'm not mistaken this is (was) the old Aurora kit from the 70's, and is not from the original 1/28th series of kits (Spad, DrI, Camel) that Revell did in the 60's.

I don't remember anything good being said about the Aurora D-VII kit, sorry.

This is not the Aurora kit at all, but of a later vintage than the other Revell 1/28 scale kits. There was an article in FineScale a few years ago that dealt with the inaccurate fuselage shape and incorrect upper wing dihedral. It involved a lot of plastic cutting, but was do-able.

I may be able to find the article tonight.

FOUND IT !!!!

'Fixing a Fokker' is in Jan 1999 FineScale Modeler. It is an article by Frank L Mitchell.
