Opportunity to ask questions to a model kit designer

The popular Web site Reddit.com has a very interesting section called "IamA" (as in "I am a firefighter/junkie/surgeon etc.. you get the picture) where people with interesting backgrounds respond to questions posed by the readers. Here is a post from someone who says he's a scale ship model kit designer for Dragon:

Really interesting tidbits of information there. Here is his comment on the alleged "decline of the hobby":

Right now is actually considered the hay day of modeling because of the extremely wide variety of genres, new kits, and after market accessories. Far from declining, it has experienced record growth in the last two decades. Manufacturers have struggled to keep up with demand for new subjects and better kits. Even throughout the economic collapse, my company still has enough capitol to develop new kits in multiple genres just as fast as we can produce them.

I was out of the hobby from '95 until a couple years ago and I was shocked to see how far the hobby had advanced and the new subjects being churned out. Bless the Chinese.
