Ol Crew Dog
I recently purchased an Airfix 1/24 Mosquito, beutiful bit of plastic. When I opened the box and fondled the lovely plastic inside I noticed that the Rubber wheels that came with the kit had made contact with one of the fuselage sides. Where this contact had taken place there was a black mark. First thing that came to mind was the AMT ERTL kits having those rubber wheels melting the plactic if not removed from the kits as soon as you purchase it. I had a few of my Tigercats that when I had this happen on my built kit going through the pile and opening all my AMT kits and removing the wheels as it had startied to melt portions of those kits as well. Could this be happening on the 1/24 Mosquito and has anyone else had this problem?
Two Mikes
I believe Parago Designs did them (he is no longer producing but they can be sourced) as well as MasterCasters over in the UK. HTH Mike
Prop Duster
I don't get out much, but, why would a manufacture include a product that would detrimentally react to other parts of a kit- in this day and age? Good Luck, Ol Crew Dog hope you can salavge the kit.
Ol Crew Dog
Thanx for the replies... I guess this needs to be a warning, I caught mine but maybe some one out there won't be as lucky. Please check the tires on your Mossy (or old AMT kits) to make sure this is not happening.
