ShadowRaider
Here are some pictures of my model of the A/S32A-32A hangar deck tractor. The A/S32A-32A is a purpose-built vehicle the U. S. Navy uses to tow, turn and position aircraft on hangar decks and elevators of its aircraft carriers and large-deck amphibious ships. My kit comes from F4Models (cat. # FM7004). It's mostly an out-of-the-box build. There are quite a lot of parts on the small photo etched fret, including very fine mesh screens; some require rather delicate bending. I have added metal wire pieces to model various hydraulic lines and the axle that moves the towing arms. For headlights, I made reflectors from self-adhesive bare metal foil and then applied drops of clear red paint. Now this tractor awaits a diorama to be placed on! Will fit nicely on an elevator along with a Hornet, Hawkeye or Prowler... or with any of the current USN helicopters, except UH-1 & AH-1. ShadowRaider
This is how this tractor would look "in action", with an aircraft in tow: PS: the F-14 model is very old and is only acting as a stage prop here.
