Fujimi 1/24 Lamborghini Murcielago

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone!

I usually build aircraft models but as a big fan of Lamborghini cars decided to build a five-car collection: Countach, Diablo, Murcielago, Gallardo and the Aventador. This is the build diary of the Fujimi Murcielago, the very first car model I have ever built. The model is already finished and I will post the diary pictures here. I was not really satisfied with the final look of the car - as this is my very first one, I didn't know much about how to achieve a smooth gloss finish. Anyway, I will practice on a crap model and hope the best on the next one.

So, first part of the diary:

Hi everyone!

You've got the interior bits down!

Thanks Bigasshammm! The interior was the easy part...

The interior looks great, can't wait to see the body on it!

Thank you, Hulk! Do not expect too much - as I wrote in the first post the body finish is far from perfect. I will send pictures of the car body in the next post.

you're doing a great job on your first car model!

What do you usually build?

Thanks Shawn!

I build aircraft models, started with 1/72 a decade ago but later I switched to 1/48. Check the links in my signature... :)

...continued from previous post. Switched to light tent photography...

Now the car is almost finished. One note about the body-chassis assembly step: the Fujimi drawing tells you that you should fully assemble the body first, then click the chassis in place, then put on the rear lights. This is impossible in this order...

The right order:

- put the body together except the rear part,

- assemble the chassis and the body,

- add the rear lights to the rear body part,

- put up the rear body part with its screw (and some glue at the appropriate points).

This worked for me nicely.

Cheers,

Zoli

So the first piece of my Lamborghini collection is finished and moved to the display case. Apart from the finish I am glad with it. After practising body finishing on a crap model I will continue with the Tamiya Countach.

Cheers,

Zoli
