john53
I got a hold of a 2006 Revell 1/24 Jeff Gordon Monte Carlo SS to use as a donor for my Danica Patrick 2010 Go Daddy #7 Nationwide Series car. I have Powerslide after market decals for either Nationwide or ARCA car. So far all I have done is wash the parts and start the engine. I have all the engine parts assembled that are aluminum so it makes it easier to paint.---John
john53
Did some detail painting on the engine.---John
Spokane-Modeller
One hell of a redneck engine stand you go going there! lol great work, getting closer to building the family car out of revells 62 impala SS kit, just need to find a darn 327 with ram horn exhaust manifolds! cant wait to see this one done. john53
Thanks! I wanted to do a family car, but try finding a 49 Buick with the holes in the side! My grandfather had one and when he took me for rides he would let me turn the antenna down before we parked in the garage!---John
Spokane-Modeller
would be interesting to see that! seeing this nascar build reminds me of my first nascar, a snaptite Rusty Wallace #2 Miller MGD car
john53
The engine is done and the headers are on. I used the exhaust system to keep the headers in alignment while the headers set up, the exhaust is just dry fitted to the headers. I also painted the chassis and have various parts assembled to it.---John
john53
Some more detail painting on the roll cage.---John
john53
More work on the roll cage. I think I am going to use the driver figure. I have some good pictures of Danica's firesuit and helmet.---John
john53
Started Danica figure. I used the figure that came with the kit, the only change I had to do is cut the air intake on the helmet off the front side by the mouth and glue it on top of the helmet facing back. I still have to finish the orange stripes on the suit, gloves and helmet.---John
john53
It's a "race" between Danica and an Airfix EF2000!---John
john53
Figure done and installed in seat. Now to finish the roll cage.---John
john53
More roll cage parts on,fresh air hoses installed and I have started detail painting of the dash board.---John
niart17
Great job on this so far! I knew she was short but man, she can't even reach the pedals. I have one of the older Nascar (Dale Earnhart) kits, that one day I may actually build. I understand the newer kits were much more detailed. This kit looks pretty nice. Keep up the great work. Bigasshammm
It's a shame they don't have any driver decals would really make it pop. Looks good though.
john53
They had driver decals BUT for Jeff Gordon seeing as though it was his car. Aftermarket didn't give any Danica stuff for driver. :( Pretty much done with cage, just needs top and dash.---John
john53
The window net is installed, dashboard painted and steering wheel in place.---John
Liberator24
Man, it would sure be nice if they had a bunch of the NASCAR models out there again.... Great job on the racer! -Jim
