Badly injured, he needed transport to a field hospital and the only transportation available was a Sherman tank. He said it was the worst ride he ever had with being jostled, bounced and bumped around, but it sure beat the alternative!!!! Mr Love recovered, returned to the front lines and tomorrow February 14, Valentines Day will mark the 69th anniversary of his capture. He was a POW for the rest of the war in Stalag 7A.
