sluggo2u
Anyone have one or been exposed to a budget minded one they could recommend?
Wayfarer 30
There are a few on ebay. Quite a few actually.
Ace Combat Zero
A 3d printer is between $1000-$2000 USD. The piece of software is worth much more than it is given credit for. If I won the lottery, I would totally get one.
sluggo2u
I'm eyeballing one called a rigidbot that is under 500.00. Requires assembly though. Link
Netz
Are you planing on using it for another hobby aside from scale modeling? If it's for our type of scale modeling it will be worthless, unless your making a hanger or building. Look at the example prints and you can see the extreme rough texture of the products they made. I saw a smaller version of this last year and it was only good for making toys, it will not do anything small, say a 1/48 nose wheel, and forget about any other detail aside from the basic shape. sluggo2u
It would not be good for what we do. Thought about getting one just to mess around with but it's still a little pricey to let the grand kids loose with it.
Jennings
The machines that will do output that you and I would consider useful still cost hundreds of thousands of dollars. They do exist (ask Paul Fisher), and even buying output from them as a vendor is very expensive. The low end machines you're talking about only do fairly low resolution output, so you'll see stair steps in anything you do. The smaller the object, the more prominent they will appear. We're not there yet. In five or ten years maybe, but not yet.
