ya-gabor
So yesterday on 25th of November we have seen the annual Plastiková Zima 2017 modelling show in Bratislava, Slovakia. Here is a short review and some photos to go with it in the coming days. A good one day event! It is very close to Austria, to Hungary (less than 2 hour drive from Budapest) so a lot of international participation. Excellent atmosphere and I mean of the show! The air inside the building is another matter, some ventilation should be arranged for in the years to come. But it does not take away from the overall felling of the event. Lots of manufacturers, traders and many small cottage industry representatives, some excellent bargains. No real big announcements from manufacturers, nothing that we did not know about. But Special Hobby had some sprues to show, like the new 72nd Viggen and the coming P-40 kit. They look fantastic! Will have some photos later. Also on view were the new Eduard sprues for the Hasegawa “repack” Liberator by the Czech company. It should be out in the new year. The sprues are very nice! Level of models in the competition was very high. Some superb workmanship! So lets see few photos. Since I don’t have a photoshare (thanks to the very kind and generous Photobucket) the photos should come one by one in the following days. First is an excellent representation of the dull aluminium finish which is typical for L-29 or MiG-15 aircraft. Best regards Gabor
ya-gabor
Here is a lovely Japanese plane. If I remember right in 72 nd scale. Best regards Gabor
ya-gabor
It was great to see the Special Hobby test sprues of the 72 nd scale Viggen family. It was sad that it is not yet available. Of course we will only see how good it is when all the plastic parts are glued together but based on the parts arranged on the sprues the kit looks fantastic! More soon. Falconxlvi
Thanks for sharing Gabor. That L-29 looks incredible! I’m tempted to buy the Eduard repack of the AMK L-29 kit.
ya-gabor
Hi Falconxlvi Yes indeed, the L-29 was fantastic and what was interesting that the “natural metal” finish was not simply a splash of aluminium paint but a perfect reproduction of the slightly dull finish which was typical for L-29’s and also MiG-15’s and 17’s. Somewhere I have another photo of the Delfin, will have that later. Here is a fuselage main part showing that slide mould technology is used to achieve details on the side walls. Looking at the sprues it is apparent that slide mould tools are used on several parts. More detail and better buildability!? Well we will see when the kit is out. For now I only had the chance to get my dirty little hands on two sprues to have a closer look. The rest was firmly fixed to the board. ya-gabor
Eduard is doing a kit of the Liberator with a Hasegawa kit to start with. To which they have added two new sprues for Brit version details and one for the transparent parts. Looks nice. Well OK it is not my cup of tea but still it will be a nice new kit in 2018. ya-gabor
Nice Kinetic Su-33 with the latest Begemot decal for recent Sirian mission markings. Best regards Gabor
ya-gabor
Something very small for a change. Many small etched added details and in the end the 144th scale kit comes a live. OK I would have liked a bit more attention on painting but it is still a small gem. Best regards Gabor
ya-gabor
More from the Plastiková Zima 2017 show. Incredible number of books are published on history of the ex-Czechoslovak airforce! Some are excellent and very high quality (both print and content) while others . . . Best regards Gabor
ya-gabor
Was this only a new item for me? Special Hobby P-40 in 72nd scale. Several versions were shown. The details were very nice! Best regards Gabor Edited November 29, 2017 by ya-gabor

ya-gabor
Here is something more from last weekends show. The difference is that I try to post with a new image hosting. Hope it works. Best regards Gabor The test with imgur did not work so I am back to adding just a single file (less 0.1MB in size) Edited November 30, 2017 by ya-gabor
Hoops
Thank you very much for the update! I'm a very excited about the forthcoming Viggen kit. I've been hoping for year that some manufacturer would release a new tool in 1/72 of my favorite aircraft, and I've finally been rewarded. Cheers! Hoops
ya-gabor
Yes I have been waiting for it too. Still have the old Heller somewhere, but I think it will joint the "never to be built" pile of kits. For the moment I am trying to get an image inserted into my post from imgur but it only shows a code and nothing more. I want the image in my post. . . Must be something wrong with me Best regards Gabor
