Stan in YUL
My Daton fan motor of over 25 years started making some awful noise and upon inspection the fan itself in sliding up and down on the motor shaft. Does this sound familiar? I am thinking a bearing failure. Any thoughts
skyhawk174
Is there something holding the fan to the shaft? Maybe that is loose.
habu2
Most fans have a roll pin or a set screw - if not press fit
Stan in YUL
Good news. After a full disassembly I found a set screw loose that allowed the fan cage to come in contact with the bolt tails that attach the motor to the housing. Almost back in business. thanks
