Dog1
when adding a little Mr Color thinner 400 to clear 46 the airbrush wont spray . I clean and flush the airbrush with diluent and it clears , try again and it clogs right on the word go . what is the reason ? Edited June 24, 2021 by Dog1
Bob Beary
If you added a "little" Mr Color thinner, then you probably didn't thin it enough. With Tamiya clear (X-22) it's about 50/50. Bob
Dog1
is a 0.5mm nozzle recommended for clear coating ? i am using 3mm for all .
Chuck1945
. 0.3 mm should work fine. (I’m guessing you meant 0.3, not 3mm) Unless your paint is super thin, like water, a good starting point is approx 1:1 paint to thinner. Most of the Mr Color paints are rather thick out of the bottle, I often end up close to 75-80% thinner when mixing to spray. I have H&S brushes and unless I am trying cover a large area such as a 1/72 4-engine bomber usually do most of my painting with a 0.2mm tip
