Grumman F-14 A Tomcat

Recommended Posts

Hello

so that´s the last big jet I´ll show you today. It´s also from tamiya :) It shows a Grumman F-14A Tomcat (kit version 1994) in scale 1/32 . As a big fan of the Tomcat I wanted to have a big one on the shelf . The kit from revell, germany is much cheaper, but the kit you can throw right way into the wastebasket , fitting is very bad and surface details , too. Except the seats , they are better than the tamiya ones :D . So they came in ;) ! It shows the markings of the CAG-Bird from the VF-21 "Freelancers" , enjoy the pics and let me know your opinion about it :D . I think this one came on ARC as a gallery entry, too.

No matter , here are the pics for you again :D

Yours Martin

i was told the pre 1994 version doesnt include things such as the TCS, bomb rails, etc. Its based in an early F-14A version and not the upgraded A's they just retired from service

Beautiful work! Love the F-14!

Btw, what's the difference between Tamiya 1994 version and "pre 1994" version. Is it just the improved canopy?

The differences between the Original #6301 and the '94 #60303 are as follows:-

NACA Vents added (Front Fuselage)

Added ECM Bump to boattail (#A2)

Intake ECM Bumps included (#D26-D29)

Added a new Sprue H which includes:-

Mk82 Snakeyes and Bomb Racks

Improved Exhaust Nozzles

TCS Chin pod (the old ALQ-100 is still on the E Sprue)

There may be some other detail changes, but I no longer have the Original kit.

HTH
