Leanjk
Here we go again... So, do you recommend or use any clear gloss coat over Model Master Metalizer or Alclad??? Such as Clear Acrylic gloss coat or even Future.... I'm making an Airliner aircraft wich has the lower fuselage in natural aluminium... How can I will "protect" de decals if I can't use this kind of coat? Actually, there are decals to be applied over polished metalizer paint. thanks Edited June 15, 2005 by Leanjk
farmerboy
i use metalizer "sealer" i find it works fine although i have heard others who don't. I have never had a problem with it!!
Chorse6
I've used future to seal MM Metalizer and never had a problem. Used it on Alclad as well, thoug don't think you really need to.
Leanjk
......thoug don't think you really need to. I really do agree with you!!! I think it don't need, but I concerned about decals applied direct over the Metalizer layer.... Do you have any suggestion for that??? In the other hand, I think even a very shine, clear and gloss coat leaves the real metal appearence away!!! :)
Leanjk
But after Alclad, I don't even consider metalizer anymore. I'm very curious to use Alclad... but here in Brazil it's hard or better "impossible" to find!!! Do you Believe??? :D Do you know somebody who could send me the ALCLAD??? :) hehehehe... so.. I still have to use MM Metalizer... :P Thank you!!! Edited June 16, 2005 by Leanjk
jrallman
If you do go the metalizer/metalizer sealer route, go with buffing metalizers so you can buff it to more of a shine than you will need, so when the sealer dulls it a bit, it will be the right sheen.
