David Walker
It's not from Hasagawa. I think it is the old Testors kit but from what I've read the decal sheet is very nice.
Skull Leader
avoid that kit like the plague. And no decal sheet is worth 30+ dollars (although some might disagree)
LanceB
I dunno, I've seen inside the box and something screamed "Esci" about it. I think it is probably theirs. The cockpit was too nice for the Testors kit (although it is wrong for a J, but hey...)
David Walker
After checking around it appears it is a reissued ESCI kit. Edited February 2, 2006 by David Walker
Pinky coffeeboat
There was a recent review of the kit on cybermodeler.com which said it was the Esci kit. The reviewer thought it was a good enough kit which would benefit from a resin cockpit (like most kits !!). The decal sheet looked nice, as mentioned. HTH
Jan
I have Italeri's kit at home (I bought it last week) ...it is originally the ESCI kit. And I have to strongly disagree with obinions above ...I think it is nice kit ...recessed panel lines (definitely not "trenche like"- rather in the style of their new Gripen...) and the kit looks very nice in the box. I did some dry fitting, and there seem to be no major problems. Here in Eurpoe it is about EUR 20...and it is very good price for decent quality... so I would not hesitate to recommend it (I myself am going to buy anther one next week) (I have the Hasegawa F-4E in my stash, so I can compare... I will do triple phantom project: 1) Hase F-4E as a main project, and two Italeri F-4s as side/"nice camo" projects paralelly... ...so: Hase= best kit available Italery: decent kit for a very good price Edited February 2, 2006 by Jan
