Chuck1945
looks nice, I like the 835 Sqd overall white finish. Flying off and recovering on those very small, pitching and rolling escort carrier decks had to have been nerve racking, even on good days.
HellerCadet
Hi. I just sign-up today. I have something to add: Do not waste your money on the "new tool" 1/48 Hobbycraft Do17z kit. It is the same old thing. They only add a new sheet of decals with "7 original markings", wheel bays and wheel wells has 0 detail, looks like an empty closet (totally smooth), canopies are so foggy that they need replacement, the MG15s 7.92mm are laughable, radio boxes and controls look like melted ice cream, the same with the control pannel, the engines don't look familiar to me, Do17Zs had 2 x Bramo Fafnir 323P 9 cylinder engines. This things alltogether made me cry. If you buy this kit, you will be forced to start an almost endless project. On the other hand, I've been looking on the net for some aftermarket and I've found this: 1- Squadron Do17z canopy part 1 -------------> http://www.squadron.com/ItemDetails.asp?item=SQ9559 2- Squadron Do17z canopy part 2 -------------> http://www.squadron.com/ItemDetails.asp?item=SQ9560 3- True Details Do17z wheel set ---------------> http://www.squadron.com/ItemDetails.asp?item=TD48067 4- Airwaves Do17z detail set -------------------> http://www.hannants.co.uk/search/?FULL=AEC48025 5- Noblekraft Do17z spinners & propellers ----> http://www.boltonipms.co.uk/noblekraft/ima...rnier-Props.jpg 6- Aires MG 15s ----------------------------------> http://www.squadron.com/ItemDetails.asp?item=EA4024 7- Aires German aircraft radio set --------------> http://www.hannants.co.uk/search/?FULL=AIRE4045 8- Engine & Things Bramo Fafnir 323------------> http://www.greatmodels.com/~smartcart/cgi/...em_num=ENT48065 What else?? 9- Lots of references 10- Lots of scratchbuilding 11- Lot of patience I hope this helps.
