MiG31
I made it to the open house right before they opened, but unfortunately they closed off a large area before I could get to it (where they'd parked the B-52 and Orion). Regardless, that wasn't one of the main reasons I was there. This was: It's a pity I didn't get to see it in action, but it was a great chance to see this new beast, and a movie star at that. BAM'n'IVM
It's interesting that the Marines have the shiny ones with the F-22 style metallic paint, while the USAF has plain ol' two-tone gray...
Trigger
It's interesting that the Marines have the shiny ones with the F-22 style metallic paint, while the USAF has plain ol' two-tone gray... There are only a few of the shiny ones being evaluated. The fleet MV-22s are flat grays

MiG31
I thought about going, but a previous thread about whether I should go or not was less than enthusiastic... I'm not sure what they were expecting, but I enjoyed myself. It was hot and my skin likes to go straight to sunburn, but I was glad I went. They had a decent variety of aircraft on display. My only regret was that I didn't go back to the warbird side of the event and have a look at the B-52 and P-3 down there. I was also disappointed I couldn't see the Beech 18 up close, but even so it was worth it, in my view.
Kingoalie
Nice shots! I went for a few hours and thought that it was decent. I especially liked how they gave you free bottles of water.
Aggressor Supporter
That Osprey looks good. Very nice pics. In that rear shot, the ramp opening does look a bit smaller than I thought.
Scot M
That's a ladder. Just kidding, I was wondering that as well, some sort of plume detector, even resembles a searchlight houseing. Good one Flying Fortess.... But it's very odd looking.... I don't recall ever seeing anything else like it... I'm not sure what they were expecting, but I enjoyed myself. It was hot and my skin likes to go straight to sunburn, but I was glad I went. They had a decent variety of aircraft on display. . Well,I would have had the wife in tow....As much as I would have liked to go,I didn't want to take the chance of driving 2.5 hours just to be dissapointed.. But since there are no rants about how it completely sucked,I'll try to make it next year. Edited July 16, 2007 by Scot M
