Hi guys 'n' gals :D

Just a little fun this morning. I've enjoyed recent threads of peoples "old" models so in that spirit here's a few pics of my Streak Eagle from way back when.

If I remember correctly it was the Monogram F-15A and I built it many moons ago. I did n't correct the airbrake or fill in the cannon as I should have done  I did, however, scratch build the nose probe array and put the UHF antenna on top of the cockpit coaming.

The model was brush painted as you can see and no filler was used.......

Man, when I look back I cringe but at the time I thought it was wonderful ^_^

Since we've been blessed with clear blue skies over Lincolnshire today, it seemed like an ideal opportunity to get a few quick snaps.

Thanks for the compliments fellas, much appreciated.

I'd love to do a Streak Eagle in 1/32nd but reference pics are few and far between.

Maybe one day?

(I believe the actual aircraft still exists in a museum but she's been painted now...... )

Very nice! ........... Thanks for posting it.

Cheers,

Alby

My pleasure Alby, I'm glad you like it :worship:

Yes, the Streak Eagle is at the Wright-Patterson US Air Force museum, and is now painted.

Thanks habu2, I thought I'd seen pics of her in Air Superiority blue. It seems a shame to cover up all of that bare metal but I guess it'll last longer in paint.

Thanks for the links. I used a little artistic license when I painted the model as I could n't find pics from every angle. The most important bit for me is the nose as this has the widest compliment of colours. Luckily there were plenty of shots of that bit. :)
