  1. I am currently trying to sell the following model kits. A couple of them are still sealed in the box, but they all have sealed inner bags and all parts should be there. I'm going with a flat rate of $10 per shipment. All items are negotiable and if you want to buy the lot, make me an offer. I haven't been building as I've gotten into photography, so I'm not interested in any trades. PM me here or write wffwii@gmail.com Italeri F-16 Cockpit – 1/12 scale – No. 2990 - $50 Revell 1/48 F/A-18E Super Hornet – 85-5850 - $10 Accurate Miniatures 1/72 F-4C/D Phantom II “Robin Olds†–
  2. I did send them an email and they are supposedly sending me another cowling. Apparently theyr'e aware of the issue.
  3. I understand the work to correct the issue here, but the point is I have about two or three hours a week to spend on my hobby and get enjoyment out of getting some stuff done rather than a long project right now... This one part that SHOULD fit properly results in probably five hours of additional work, not one hour. If you have a ton of experience adding styrene and sanding it to down then maybe you could pull it off in an hour. In the end, unacceptable out of the box, if you ask me. We should be able to put the kits togther out of the box and have a reasonable facsimile, and then if we w
  4. It's all starting to make sense now. lol I get home from work today, putting the horizontal stabs on and I notice they have RAISED panel lines. The entire rest of the kit is recessed. Seriously, WTH??? What's really sad about this kit is it's the free one they sent me after I bought three kits and sent in the UPCs. I've built three other kits by Accurate Miniatures and really enjoyed them, even with their quirks. THIS one though, has me wondering if I want to venture off and buy another one of their kits any time soon though. Kinda funny that I'd get a freebie that would be bad enough t
  5. I'm currently working on the Accurate miniatures F-6B tac recce Mustang kit. I got to the front piece that goes on the upper cowling yesterday, and it's a couple of milimeters wider than the ridge that it is supposed to glue to. Has anyone else built this kit and run into the same problem? How did you resolve if so? It almost looks to me like maybe the ridge was molded incorrectly and should have had some taper to it. I'm most interested in a quick solution overall, as I don't want to spend a ton of time on this kit, which is why I started it in the first place. Any tips are appreciated.
  6. I've been using Boltgun Metal from Citadel/Games Workshop on the last couple of kits and am quite happy with it compared to others. I think it darkens some as it dries, even so it looks even better once you apply it than it does in the bottle.
  7. This is the one time I'll probably ever be thankful that the wife is a slow shopper. I was browsing around the local Wal-Mart and found something called "Creative Hands Fuzzy Stix". They're basically pipe-cleaners that are about a foot long. 100 to a pack for less than $2. So I picked them up and they are WAY better than pipe cleaners. They absorb a ton more than a pipe cleaner, and the wire is much finer, so I can fold it in half and really get a good clean inside the flutes of my color cups. They're long enough that I can run it all the way through my airbrush and run it back and forth
  8. I'm looking for Aeromaster decal sheet 48-537 "Colorful A-6E Intruders". I'm interested in the VA-115 markings, so if you have a partial sheet with those decals still in tact, it would work for me. PM or email wffwii@gmail.com Thanks!
  9. I was poking around online tonight looking for some pictures of ordnance to use as a reference for painting and stumbled onto a site that I figure is worth sharing for reference purposes. It's actually a digital modelling company, but their images of the weapons are phenomenal. It looks like the site might be useful for a reference in other areas as well. They have some good quality digital images of aircraft and some really great cockpit mockups. In lieu of an actual mk 82 or aim-9x in my living room, it looks pretty reliable to me. If anyone else has good reference material, feel free t
  10. I've got a Revell F-14D & F-14A and am thinking about jumping into the group build with one of them, and also trying a rescribe for the first time. What tools are you going to use for the rescribe? Do you have templates and the whole nine yards, or are you just going to go along the raised lines to rescribe?
  11. lol, and knowing cat guys as well as I do having worked in V-2/VLA on the Indy, that was probably one of the most sought after jobs because it gave them a chance to lay down and rest for a few seconds.. ;-)
  12. I stirred the crap out of it using a screwdriver. Might have to give that another try. I was running it from farther away (probably 9-12") last night. I'm using a Paasche VL and the larger bottle that says "Clear Flat Acryl" on it. I checked it like 5 times to be sure I didn't pull out the semi-gloss or something like that.
  13. I'm trying to airbrush Acryl Clear Flat and it's not going as planned. Every coat I spray gets shinier and shinier. It's to the point now where the bottom of my model has a much better sheen than the top where the last coat of Future was applied. I've tried slightly thinned with Acryl Thinner at around 15 psi, straight from the bottle at around 20 psi, thin coats, and heavy enough coats that it looks a little milky when I stop coating it. Anyone using Acryl Flat regularly? How do I get it to look Flat? Did the folks at the local hobby store pull a fast one on my and fill my bottle with S
