  1. I can hook you up, but it'll have to wait until this weekend when I get home. Let me know if you still want it.
  2. Hey Larry, is that with or without the BB cockpit - I can't really tell? It does look very nice!
  3. That I know of: F-16s and A-10s from 706 TFS/924 TFG http://www.f-16.net/gallery_item95658.html http://modelingmadness.com/scotts/decals/s.../72/ss72708.htm
  4. Another Eglin test unit: AD - Armament Division Others: FM - Florida Makos LR - Luke Reserve DO - Dayton Ohio NO - New Orleans
  5. What's ironic is that if a new kit is actually released, BB or Aires would probably come out with a cockpit set regardless of the quality of the kit parts (Tamiya 1/48 F-16). So a new kit would solve our kit AND aftermarket problem.
  6. While they are at it they can make a nice F-20 too! I'm sick of having to look for the BB cockpit to dress up the Monogram kit.
  7. Schweet!!! Block 52 here I come!!!
  8. If you read my original post you'll see this is exactly what I said. I was just trying to find that picture of a test bird that actually carried four.
  9. Oops, apparently I posted a wrong picture. Here is one: http://www.f-16.net/gallery_item226902.html
  10. The only time I have seen that was on a test bird out of Eddie... and it wasn't a CJ either - it was just a D. The F-16's internal fuel capacity is pretty low, somewhere around 7100 pounds, so you will almost never see it without those 370 gal. tanks on combat missions. Ignore what the caption says - it's a Block 40, not a Block 50: http://www.f-16.net/gallery_item33386.html
  11. Not only that, but with the Phoenix pallets installed.
  12. See I knew I heard that somewhere, though it doesn't sound as convincing as something like "Weapons Academy" or "Weapons & Armament". Does anyone know for sure? This thread is becoming more and more educational. Keep 'em tailcodes coming guys!
  13. Yo Henrik! Long time no see! Still chasing Vipers? Got any new models or pics? :D Can't wait to get back home and start building Vipers!
  14. Wow that Flanker scheme is really effective from far away!
  15. Man, I can only imagine how it feels to have such a history associated with your wing.
  16. Cool, thank you guys for your inputs! So far we have cleared up the following: WA - Weapons Academy (Can anyone confirm this?) LF - Luke Field ZZ - Well Zzzzzzz... MJ - Misawa Japan LA - Luke Auxiliary These are still unknown to me: NA - 57 TFW, Nellis AFB CC - Can anyone confirm if the second C was just randomly chosen? BB - I had a chuckle out of Keith's explanation, but does anyone have anything for the second B other than cup size? Rhino53, what you said applies to aircrafts before the early nineties, no? Also, I have seen Europe based KC-135s with a big letter D painted on the
  17. I guess I should have phrased my questions better, but yeah, I am aware of which bases these tailcodes stand for, just not the actual acronym. For example, what does the second C in CC stand for? It's hard to get convinced that it's just there for no particular reason. It's gotta have a meaning or a story behind it. For example, FT was an unusual one in that it did not stand for the name of a base, but the nickname of the unit. But others? ZZ? As in Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz I'm going to bed?
  18. Yeah I know where all the bases are and which units are assigned, I'm just curious as to what the tailcode stands for. For the most part, I've found that USAF tailcodes actually make sense and is an acronym for something compared to USN ones. Ves, ZZ is currently the tailcode of the 18th Wing, based at Kadena in Japan. So you're saying that there is an association between them at the Jazz jets? CR is for Soesterberg based F-15s and HR is for Hahn based F-16s (an other types), but again, I'm unsure as to what they stand for.
  19. Okay guys, let's talk about some of these tailcodes. I have always wondered what exactly WA stood for. A long time ago I read that it was for "Weapons Acquisition" but that never sat too well. I've also heard "Western Air" and "Weapons & Armament" and I tend to think it's the last one, but I've never had a conclusive answer. Also, does LF stand for "Luke Falcons"? I thought that was a plausible guess but it could certainly also stand for "Luke Frank" for Frank Luke, the one the base is named after. Then there is LA for the 2nd Bomb Wing and its B-52s. Here I have no guesses. How about
  20. If you need those older wheels Dr Pepper Resins makes some.
  21. I just think that nothing in the movie really justified the title: Stealth. The only time the word "stealth" came up was actually when one of them declared "My stealth has been compromised..."
