TommyP: Amazing model, congratulations!!!!! Carioca: You can wedge a single pair of wings. I started a conversion back in 2009 and never finished it mainly because i dont have the space for the finished model. I think I have a couple of pictures of what i did with the wings wich will be easier to send via email than the time it will take me to post them, so if you (or anyone else) would like to see them, please write to me to mgarciav@cfia.or.cr saludos, Trident

How would you go about cutting clear styrene disks?
dhtrident2e replied to Jennings's topic in Tools 'n' Tips
Jennings: check out the stationery and scrapbooking sections and look for paper punches. they come in multiple shapes and you can find circles. A few days ago i bought a 1cm diameter punch to make masks to spray roundels. I've seen them in larger diameters (maybe 1 inch)and in the States you should have ample supplies. they wont cut into something thick but they puch even aluminum can sheet. also I bet that right into your desk you have an old paper punch, these office tipes puch a hole 6mm in diameter. hope this helps, saludos, Trident -

Jesnif, Brasso is a brand name for a polishinmg paste for metals, it comes in rounded tins like the ones for shoe polish. I picked the tip from Finescale Modeler years ago and its great for polishing canopies, plastic, or fully cured spray can enamels (experiment first on this one, because it has petroleum derivatives)!!!!!!), Saludos.

Jennings: THanks for answering, I meant "not sticking" as in there is no adhesive. Think of wetting a piece of paper or tissue and it will stick to a surface, but when it dries it falls off. Its the same, the decals are laying there but are not "glued". i don't know if it is that the decal set is washing the adhesive away or the clear coat is somehow repelling adhesion!!!!!!!! JUst this weekend I started decaling a 737-400 with liveries unlimited GAruda decals, ON saturday night the first window strip went down OK, and then yesterday i applied the logo just to find today that it silvere

I believe Matchbox had a single seater and a 2 seater. I bought the 2 seater in 1988 and hated it (the second canopy made it look awful), right now i'd love to get one again!!!!!! Saludos,

Hello everyone: I'm mostly an airliner modeler but I returned to modeling military aircraft a year ago, mostly overhauling old models. I'm having trouble with decals not sticking to any of my models: I use: Testors decal set and decal solvent. Krylon spray can clear gloss Sometimes I polish the paint with Brasso (mostly in airliners) most of the decals I've been using are old, yet for example I did the HobbyBoss 1/72 f-84 Thunderjet, the decals seemed to be OK but were just laying there, not adhered at all. And I used the walkways out of a new decal sheet of the Revell Mirage F1 and t

You don't mention if you primed first, Maybe the primer and the paint are not compatible??????? (don't ask me how I know about it.....) saludos, Trident

Surface contamination comes to mind first. However, you're not telling what type of paint you're using. ¿Maybe its something that wont bite into plastic? the way you describe the simptoms really sound like it, otherwise it's an apocaliptical case of contamination... saludos, Trident.

It all depends on what you're building, as a kit and as a livery both. saludos,

When I got my kit, in about 2001, it came as an special edition with a tin of silver, a tin of blue, and a paintbrush, in a clear plastic package. There were also Fokker 100s packaged like that, i think it was the Helvetic issue. And i never again saw them!!!!!. Hope you have luck finding the LH blue!. Saludos, Trident

I have used for years an American made spray line called SPRUCE for years. The gloss white doesnt yellow at all, I have models 10-15 years old that look OK. Funny enough, its being substituted at the hardware stores here for cheaper acrylic brands (I live in Costa Rica), so now it's almost impossible to find. If you can find it give it a shot. And I forgot to add that when everythng is dry I hand paint the fan with a fine brush to avoid spilling paint. Saludos
