  1. Gents: Thanks, Think I'll go with Floquil 31110 Navy Red. It seems to be close to Sante Fe red. I wonder if units didn't add insignia yellow to insignia red to get a brighter orange-red? Both were on base and it would explain the color variations. Mark
  2. Interesting, all on US soil. None forward deployed. Seems the emphasis is on the Pacific Rim. From a modellers perspective I like Holloman. Mark
  3. Gents: I've been researching the P-47's of the 56th FG and their red cowl rings. My first question is: Were they painted insignia red or something else. Often they appear as a red-orange color. Is this the result of sun-fading, unstable color (red until the late 70's gave the automakers fits) the age and properties of the color film in the cameras taking the pictures, or all of the above. The red-orange seems to be similar to what is labeled sometimes as: Guards Red or Chevy Engine Red. The second question is: On the 910th AW C-130's the tailband has a similar red-orange color. Is the
  4. Sieste Ron's Resin out of Australia has the wing pods for the B707 which look to be the same. Mark
  5. Hope the bad guys are using the same war gaming software. Didn't mention attrition replacements or inventory in the depots. 126 leaves 57 for training, test and attrition and depot work. Hope it's enough. Mark
  6. Horrido: I've never seen a F-22A in person. As for the rest, beyond me. Maybe I should invite a certain ARC Forum member over for a few brews. Maybe he'd bring his ride. Mark
  7. Gents: Back in the late seventies the A-10's in Mask 10 and Mask 10A had a pronounced greenish cast to the grey color. Remember one jet at that time with 11 hours on the clock at an airshow. I'll try to dig-up a photo and scan it. Mark
  8. SebastianP: Try this method. PM me if you have questions. http://www.arcforums.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=71993 Mark
  9. We could at least hope so. Enjoy doing that paint scheme. Mark
  10. Bob: You gotta do it 1/72. Been waiting with my Esci kit for a long time for this one. Good photos of the missile in Don Logan's F-15 book. Might try contacting him. Mark
  11. Here's an F-16 from Eglin done 3/3/02. Alps for the tail markings
  12. Ron: I complete a 3 x 5 index card on every model I build. Been doing it since '72. Nice to look back over the years that way. Mark

  18. Hand brushed and the silver was tinted with various amount of grey paints. Sure wish Pactra Silver was out there now. One of the nicest silvers. Used it on the 335th TFS jet.
  19. Gents: A pair of F-105D's The Flying Tiger was done in 1972 and the 335th TFS, 4 TFW n April of 1973. Mark

  21. Gents: Anyone see the pics of Lockheed's BMAC concept that were published a while back? It would make an interesting replacement for the HC-130P's http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/sys...t-lockmart1.jpg Mark
  22. Gents: Hope they publish a picture. With the same fuselage a kit-bash might be possible. FWIW, built multi-wheel base trucks on the same assembly line. Mark
  23. Anthony: Don't know if it's going to be marketed. Anybody interested? Mark
  24. A bottom view. Have some work to do before they are ready to be cast. Mark
  25. Here's the AGM-158 JASSM. There's a drawing on the net that shows, top, side, front, rear and bottom views. Took the drawing scaled it an printed it to 1/72 scale. Then glued the drawing to a block of styrene to us as a template. Shaped the missile using a dremel tool with planer fence and using files and sanding sticks. The top view.
