Thanks Habu, for the good work, heres something to make it happen faster !!! LOL <_< Hey Jake, the 2nd book looks interesting...
-
thanks guys, now that clear things up a bit ! <_< wonder if Habu will find time to update the page on 1:48 scale F-16 kits by Tamiya, Hobbycraft, Kiddyland with the new Tamiya.

Hi all, I was told that there are apparently more then 1 type of bird slicers (can't remember the correct technical name sorry ) used on the F-16 by the various operators. Is this true ? How different are they ? Is it something to worry about when doing birds in 1/48 ? :huh:

Thanks guy for the compliments ! Used to hate 1/72 but I guess engineering have progress to a certain point to make them enjoyable build now !! :lol: Try one when you are burn-out or suffering from AMS !!! And oh Steve made a mistake, I'm from sunny Singapore !!

Hi Matt, can you help confirm the build calls for H74 for FS34424 (green) ? I just checked a Mr colour chart and H74 is listed as Air Superiority Blue ? :P The cloest guess based on the chart (without seeing the actual paint colour til I get to the LHS) I think is H26 (Dark Egg Green) give or take the shade to be adjusted ? This is one reference of what I found

Hey David I got the set also. You are right on the texture. But I think its not a big problem. I just rub a used 1000 grit sandpaper and the texture is removed and the surface returned to normal smoothness. I think they used more then the usual amount of powder during the casting process. Some of the casting blocks are also quite painful to remove. especially for the spine part :P I will have to second you on the panel lines. They are quite light. A rescribe is definitely needed to prevent the lines from being lost during painting.

Thanks guys for the replies. :P I'll make a note and go down to the LHS and use the old MKII eyeball to make the final decision !

I searhced thru the web for the camo colors for the f-15I and F-16I etc and the colors I came up with are : 1. FS36375 2. FS30219 3. FS34424 4. FS 33531 I manged to cross reference them to MR colour as follows : 1. FS36375 -> H308 2. FS30219 -> H310 3. FS34424 -> ? 4. FS 33531 -> H313 Anyone knows what is the best match for colour no. 3 ? TIA ! :)

Hi Gary, I get what you mean about the bevel end and lights arrangement on the "old" pod. Makes it complete if you can find some shots of the actual arrangement . :lol: The straight edge of the older pod makes using the kit supplied part a viable option since I guess thats where they cut off the cone(fin) fairing. Mark's pic makes the "later" pod arrangement clearer. But in the second picture, the starboard side of the pod has only 1 light ? hmmmm........:blink: Maybe they still keep to the 3 lights arranegement ? Mark, Thanks for the pic. Sure clears up some things with the old and

Hi Gary, Thanks for the reply. That just about confirm the suspicion here ! so just to confirm, the "later" pod has the refuel advisory light in a vertical stacked fashion. The "older" pods has the bumps and advisory lights housed in a triangular "housing" ? If I may probe further, what colours are the advisory lights ? red and green ? If its individual red and green lights, then are they stacked side by side in the "older" pods ? At this stage, I'm contemplating using the kit supplied fuel tank to mod to become a buddy pod by adding in the bumps, the props at the tip and the light hou

Hi All, I was contemplating hanging a buddy pod on my 1/48 Hase RSAF Skyhawk and I just verified that it can only be carried on the center pylon. :D Thats the theory part ! Now for the practical part. :D I went digging in my stash and found a buddy pod from a AMT S-3 Viking kit. I did some more search and in theory it seems the S-3 and the skyhawk both uses the D704 buddy pod ? Now the confusing part. :( I have a picture of a Viking carrying a buddy pod (from one of the carrier trips back in 2003) and I compare this to the one made by cobra company. The difference seem to be the small b
