  1. Last retouches on the parts turned out horrid: working with an observer on the desk:
  2. A Phantom body mixed with the F-15's air intakes and complete front fuselage ?? I did this whatif in scale 1/48 in the far 1990: it was the my second whatif, the first was a 1/72 F-104 with F-16's wings. I did never complete fully this Phantom/F-15 because I met a lot of problems. Honestly, in 1990 I was not full ready to fight with the problems that born building a whatif as I'm able to do today. The past year I have done a preliminary sketch for a 2012's version of that my old whatif. It's in the my programs for the future.
  3. .........COMPLETED....... (at 99.9%) I need to clean a while some points but it's completed:
  4. Yesterday I used the TAMIYA black panel accent color on the panel lines located on the upper surfaces. Today begun to apply the decals:
  5. I'm looking to save the shape of the front part of the my F-104 Delta. While doing corrections the attach point of the delta to the fuselage, I choosed of to correct the lot of scratches that there are on the front part of the upper fuselage. at the end of the corrections reapplied a tick hand of Humbrol enamel: I feel that the shape is still not as I want, but I don't understand why all the my efforts to obtain a decent match on the fuselage/delta zone is going bad.
  6. OH Yes... Problem solved at 50%: There is nothing that can't be solved using a little of ammonia and a new bath into the Future. Today sprayed the model with a mix of 50% Future and 50% of Gunze Clear to prepare the surfaces for "panel washes" and decals.
  7. I wish to set the my Updated Phantom in the same time spot (1975/1976) as the original lot of F-4C/D "Candy Cane". PHOTO ON AIRLINERS.NET (LINK 1) And because the original F-15A Candy Cane (reproduced by Two Bobs in a his last sheet) is a little boring.
  8. PROBLEMS. The my new trend is of DO NOT glue the canopies on the fuselage before of to paint the model. This "Elegant Phantom" was started from me in another era. So in the past days when I removed the tape from the clear parts I got the surprise, not so a surprise however, I had the fear of to find a disaster because I have REMOVED the first layer of paint and doing this the goo composed by the melted old paint has walked inside the clear parts. This afternoon I decide to remove the glued transparents, by my luck they went away very easily. Now I have washed the transparents with th
  9. Looking at the drawing (box art) of the new F-4B present in the Academy's catalog I noticed the copyright signature made on the drawing by the his designer: it's signed '10 so this should to mean that Academy has commissioned the box art on the 2010. There is only to hope the two years passed developing the new F-4B will be enough to give us a decent kit.
  10. Candy Cane phase one; the red bands: Due of the external temperature constantly around the 40°C the lasts steps on the Modernized Phantom are very difficult to fullfil.
  11. A:) Was it taken prisoneer and now is hostage? B:) The US Army studies for future combat scenarios? C:) Killed by the wife, waiting for CSI/FBI/ATF/LOCAL POLICE scene investigation? D:) In the year 2080 the future wars will be battled into a FLOREAL PLANET (call 1-800-CAMERON-AVATAR-3D for details)...
  12. Prometheus (Promy for the friends) is a PREQUEL of ALIEN? Looking how so old style, truck like was the interior of the original ALIEN's spaceship NOSTROMO if compared with the 2089 interior of the PROMETHEUS look like they have done a step in reverse. The new movie is son of the our times: all inside the Prometheus is shiny all made of 3d screens and holographics devices. The spaceship Nostromo of ALIEN instead look like an aeroplane from the AMARC store. Do you remeber the MOTHER computer in Nostromo? With the keyboard taken from a Commodore 64... The new movie is done by the original D
  13. This afternoon I remembered of to have another project on hold, this F-104 Twin Engine. So, many days after the application I sanded away the Tamiya Two Part Putty. Now there is a little amount of fine work to do to smooth all then I will respray the loose paint.
  14. CAMO on the upper surfaces: Enamel TAN 30219 from White Ensign: The following day I did one of the my experiments. Instead of to use the Green 34102, too much dark for the my taste, I tested the INTERIOR GREEN enamel from TESTORS: When that interior green has been applied I understood of to have done a ISRAELI LIKE CAMO.... GRRRRR The Interior green look almost near, too near, in the tone of the Green used on the past on the Israeli's aircrafts. Ok, I left loose this mistake. Now I'm trying by THREE days to apply the third colour, the green 34079, but even today an unexpected T
  15. Seen Promy yesterday night. Sincerely, not impressed. Too much nonsense. The top of the nonsense in Prometheus for me is when the character SHAW self operate herself alone mechanically in a surgical pod. All alone she give life to a monster. Nobody in the spaceship seen or hear nothing. She go out covered of blood but nobody other ask something to her and worse, nobody other enter in the medical chamber. The monster (Mobby the Tentacle) so grew up freely. This is sufficient for me to lift up white flag. But there is more of worse. The tentacular Monster (Mobby the Tentacle) grow up a
  16. Thank You for the offer but I do not wish to do that role. I do not have a good sync with the group builds! I have take part to two group builds, one here in ARC and to a GB in Italy. In both cases I was unable to complete the my proposed model in the time assigned.
  17. I think to a SEA camo, but with "Candy Cane" inspired/copied stripes Link
  18. Think And Think, at the end chosen the livery. Days ago applied cheap low tack tape in "certain zones" today sprayed the White Ensign FS-36622 enamel on the undersurfaces. First, covered the center of every preshaded panel with the 36622, then sprayed with the same 36622 heavy diluted over the preshading lines. This is the result: I think of to have done the task decently.
  19. This morning done the pre shading to the upper surfaces: If you watch the image here above, look at left wing, the pre shading is a little more coarse in the front edge of the left wing. This morning, in the beginning, I tried to do the pre shading using a "MICRO BRUSH". As soon as I begun to use the Micro Brush I had realized that to use the Micro Brush was too much time consuming. So I did the rest of the pre shading using the airbrush.
  20. The repaint of the never completed Elegant Phantom: Today pre shading on the lower surfaces.
  21. I'm holding the E.Phantom near me on the desk, I hope of to get an inspiration for the camo to apply looking it....
  22. The my true limit is the time: I would to have more time for the modeling!!! Update: Removed the more possible of old paint then corrected some points left loose the past time and yesterday sprayed a preliminary layer of Humbrol Zinc Cromate Primer as base for the next paint attempt.
