TomcatFanatic123
If all goes as planned, shuttle Atlantis will be rocking and rumbling on it's way to the ISS and into space for the last time tomorrow. I've never seen a shuttle launch in person (hoping to before the end), but I've watched plenty on TV, and I've been a very close follower of the space program for pretty much all my life (except for when I was about 4 or 5 years old, and the window-rattling launches out here at Vandenberg at ungodly hours sent me screaming into mommy and daddy's room wondering if the world was ending ). So with that, best of luck to Atlantis and her crew, from T-0 until "wheels stopped". Edited May 14, 2010 by TomcatFanatic123
Alternative 4
Was ment to see it this time last year. Nasa brought the launch forward by a day and I missed it because I was in a 757 somewhere over California.

ikar
I missed this one. I was working inside while I listened to the radio which normally cuts over to the cape for the launch. This time they didn't. My wife called when it cleared the pad. By the time I got outside all that was left was a smoke trail. At least I saw the last one before I went to work. I watched from my front yard. Not long after I could hear the sound of the launch and even my garage door rattled a bit.
