B52HVet
Hello all, I've recently come into a couple of the old(er) Revellogram 1/48th F-14 kits. Now, I'm not even close to an expert on the Tomcat, so I've got a couple basic questions that somebody may be able to help me with. I assume there HAVE to be differences between the A and D model kits (Haven't unbagged them to look, or count parts) Anyone know what they are? I've got my eye on a set of decals, but they are for an F-14B. What mods would be needed to accurately represent that aircraft? Would I need to start with the "A" or the "D"? Any major issues with this kit that I need to know before I jump in? Can anybody suggest the best/most cost effective way of dressing up the cockpit? Thanks for the help! GreyGhost
Tyvm Gregg, will check those out. Glad to help Jay ... Here's another thread to get a flavor of the various versions of the Big 'Cat ... >>> Clicky <<< The main difference between an F-14A and an F-14B is the engines ... The Alpha had Pratt & Whitney TF-30s where as the Bravo had GE F110s ... I'm sure others that know much more than I on both the kits and the actual 'Cats will chime in ... Darren Roberts is probably the most prolific Revell-ogram Tomcat builder and might give some tips too ... Gregg

B52HVet
i would like to help you any way i can do you know any thing about the f-14b your building like what squadron or what time frame or what decals your using? Catfan, I'm planning to do an F-18E in VF-143 "Pukin Dogs" markings, and I found this decal set for 2004-05 F-14B's from 143, thought it would be cool to have them side by side. http://www.fightertowndecals.com/files/VF-...ONT_BACKWEB.jpg http://www.fightertowndecals.com/files/VF-143_InsideWEB.jpg http://www.fightertowndecals.com/files/48004_VF-143x.jpg And since I've now got 3 of the Revellogram F-14 kits, (2x D model, 1x A model) I've been thinking about doing a VX-9 jet as well (Visited Point Mugu as a kid) with these sheets: http://www.fightertowndecals.com/files/VX-...ONT_BACKWEB.jpg http://www.fightertowndecals.com/files/VX-9FTD48-004WEB2.jpg http://www.fightertowndecals.com/files/VX-9_InsideWEB.jpg Any info you could pass on would be greatly appreciated
