P-38 guy
I'm working on a Tamiya P-47D razorback and I'm using Skymodel decals for "Hoyt's Hoss" 41st FS, 35th FG. Was trying to confirm how the white tail was painted. The decals instructions show the tail white with the horizontal stabilizer OD/NG. The profile in Osprey's Mustang and Thunderbolt Aces of the Pacific and CBI show white tail with bottom of the horizontal stabilizer white and the top is OD. No picture showing the whole plane and can't find anything online. Even tried looking for just anything on 41st FS or 35th FG and had no luck. Mike
SoarinSukhoi
If you can't find anything, then I'd paint it whatever way you prefer. No one will be able to tell you you're wrong. I can only find pictures of the nose.
Cobrahistorian
Mike, Can't promise anything, but I've been looking into 35th FG records lately. There are some photos with the microfilmed monthly histories, albeit poor quality ones. Can you give me a timeframe to look in? I'll see if there are any useable pics the next time I'm at the AFHSO (probably Thursday). Jon
