Wege
Howdy All. My 'contribution' to this shebang will be a lowly Val that was present on one of the raids on Ceylon. Thus far I have the fuselage together, sans cowling, with an undercoat of Tamiya's IJN Grey and a start on the IJN upper side with red tail. Unlike my last Val from Monochrome, I will not try to mix the blue/black for the engine cowling - it still came out 'black' anyway, and I will attempt some panel washes to highlight the .... panels... :)
-Neu-
Very interesting subject matter of a period of the war that has been forgotten. Its fascinating to me just how active the IJN's carrier fleets were, sailing to Pearl, Ceylon, Philippines, the Aleuts and Midway, in the space of six months. Hopefully this resource might be of help. http://japaneseaircraft.multiply.com/photos/album/70/CEYLON-RAID
Wege
Yep.. already got, ta. the markings of the kit are for BI-251. This accursed red humbrol paint is taking a while to dry. Doh
