Blackbird SR-71 Reference pics

Hi all!

I took a few pics of the Blackbird at Castle AFB last year and thought that others may find them useful. They're coming in handy for my build at the moment, I just wish I had taken more pics!!

Engine starter access panel, looking aftâ€â€yes, there are 46 screws that had to be unscrewed to remove the panel and start the engine!

Here's a longer shot of the nose gear well with a better view of the uplock assembly, which also actuates the doors.

And for those seeking a really big challenge, check the plumbing on the right bulkhead of the nose gear well.

The perforated metal at the bottom of the frame is the inside of the nose gear door.

Would anyone be interested in walkaround photos of the AC-330 start cart, maybe on its own thread?

Great shots!

The first time I ever sat in one there were big signs on the hangars, "No photograpy allowed, use of dealy force authorized!" and the big german shepard panting in my ear was going to guarantee I didn't even think about touching my camera.
