Hey guys, I've been searching high and low for a good photo or drawing of something and figured maybe someone here may have what I'm looking for. On the space shuttle's SRB Nose cone seperation motors (not the bottom ones), there are some metal covers of some sort. In some pictures they appear to be almost a hexagon shape and in others they look round with possible a hinged cover on the right or a raised "+" pattern across the top. I can't find anything really close-up to get a definative answer. Does anybody have anything on them? If it's changed throughout the years, I'm more interested in the latest flights.

Thanks in advance for any help you can give.

Well that definately helps rule out hexagons. They are clearly round. It looks almost like a semi-truck's exhaust stack hinged top or something. It for sure helps me with a few other details as well. Awesome! Thanks. :thumbsup:/>

I think that's what I'm going to go with. Like a spring loaded hinged cover that swing outward away from one another. It looks like it latches on the opposite side and has a raised "+" pattern for some reason. Thanks, that will get me what I need I think.
