VIPER0177
Pulled out my big B-1 to work on it again and have a couple questions. When did the third set of pitot tubes on the nose start being added? Also the T shaped antennas between the engines in the Eduard set look to be mounted to far aft. Is this because the pods are to short where the exhausts mate or do they need to be moved forward? caudleryan
I think the third pitot tubes were added around 1991 or so? I don't have my Daco book with me, so I cannot confirm for sure. I don't know about the antennas, though. RYAN.
habu2
There are T-shaped airflow guide vanes on the lower side of the engine nacelles, aft between the engines. Are those the T-shaped "antennas" you refer to?
VIPER0177
Ryan I have the Daco book and it says 1990 as the time they were added but I have a photo from 1989 showing all three. I wonder if they were added by squadron, serial number or depot stop thru. Habu Yes those are what I'm talking about. I didn't know what they where so I took a guess. In photos the pods look longer in the exhaust area then the kit does so the guide vanes look like they sit to far aft. Thank you both for trying to help.
