warthoglvr
With the help of a friend, this past Friday I was able to surprise Col. Don Waddell (retired USAF) with a model of the F-15A he was flying for the 32nd FS out of Soesterberg AB in the early 1980's when he was selected as the "Best Eagle Driver in Europe". Don was thrilled with his model and appreciated the little touches I did to backdate the Hasegawa "C" to an earlier "A" model. Here's the pics of the presentation. balls47
warthoglvr, God bless you, bro. There is nothing in this great hobby of ours that warms my heart more than what you did. There is nothing more honorable than building a model for a military (current, ex, retired, base, VFW hall, etc.) person, unit, organization, etc., then presenting that model. A WWII that hasn't been happy for awhile will get an instant smile and a sparkle in his eyes when he sees a model of the vehicle that he used to fly, drive, crew, etc. If you are thinking that your display shelf might look a little empty, don't worry, it will be full of happy faces. If you haven't done what warthoglvr has done, give it a try. I guarantee you that you won't be disappointed.
