Litvyak
Knowing that I was rather eager (ok, let's be honest, pretty desperate) to find a certain old Repliscale decal set, the awesome guy that is 82Whitey51 went out of his way not only to track a set down for me, but to surprise me by gifting it to me. So, for that, thank you so much! So, for this build I used a 1/72 Hasegawa kit and said Repliscale decals to make this F-4S in the low-viz VMFA-112 "Cowboys" scheme. The build was straightforward as ever, no need to really say anything about it, but the decals, even despite their age, worked quite well without any special treatment. So, here, a few pics of my 16th Phantom: And lastly, my two (so far!) USMC F-4s together: For the record, the lighter-coloured lettering on the lighter grey actually contrasts better against the paint than the photos might lead to believe, but that's probably a result of the flash. 2qwik4u
Nice looking Phantom! Yeah, that 82Whitey51 isn't too bad. Even if he is a Boston fan... -Dave
Litvyak
Thanks! Yeah, somehow I've managed to overlook the fact he's a Booins fan, but at least my Habs swept the season series this year. ;)
82Whitey51
Haa Haaaa..."Let's Go Bruins!!" Nice job! Glad the decals worked out, never know with those old sheets. I didn't have to go too far out of my way, was at the 2014 Nats sifting through decals and boom! - There they were. Rare sheet though, apparently. You're quite welcome, I like to help out other model geeks when ever I can...even if they're dirty, dirty Habs fans! Besides, we had a friendly wager.
