phantom
Next up, a new CP-140 Aurora. The one I built several years ago has not lasted through the course of time. The old decals have yellowed and browned badly. So. Build the kit again but this time use Canuck decals instead of the old Hasegawa and Arrow graphics decals I used last time. 82Whitey51
Niiiice... Hey, even your old one looks real nice. I have the Canuck sheet also, love that old scheme. What color do you use for the green/grey lower area?
phantom
Start with Tamiya INJ Grey and then mix to eye ball with a little white and blue.
Trojan Thunder
I am tempted to start another P-3 but I will see how I got with the 3 builds I already have going now. Happy to take the kit decals sheet off your hands if you are not going to use it Shawn. Edited September 12, 2015 by Trojan Thunder
phantom
Sure, PM me. But I will be using the cockpit decals.
phantom
THe best nose weight ever. Dried up bottle of paint.
phantom
Not worrying too much about the inside. Can't see anything once this model is sealed up anyway. Seems my early paint needs a redo. It flakes off if you touch it. That is easy enough to work around for now. Model needs a bit of putty anyway.
phantom
Putty worked really well. Fresh slightly darker paint. As mentioned mostly IJN Grey, a little dab of blue and two dabs of white.
Trojan Thunder
Any re-scribing on this one Shawn? Or have just fixed up the raised detail that the sanding destroys?
phantom
Very little re-scribing. For 1/72 sized down from real life panel lines would hardly show. Especially on a new glossy paint scheme.
Trojan Thunder
Thought so :D
phantom
Well, this looks better then the old one.
Trojan Thunder
Nice work Shawn. Boy I wish I could pump on out that fast. How did the Canuck Decals go? I have a set for a FIP scheme CP-140 and RAAF P-3 Edited September 16, 2015 by Trojan Thunder
phantom
Canucks stuff just just fine. No issues ever with Dave s stuff thus far. Go on just like they are supposed too.
