balbukerke
I bought it yesterday, and i don't know how to use it cheers, Bruno Albuquerque
madmike
Flat base is used to flatten Tamiya acrylic gloss paints, just add a couple of drops to gloss clear or gloss paints to achieve the desired degree of sheen. It is NOT a flat clear! MikeJ
T-bone
You can also add matt base to Tamiya acrylic flats to make a "Dead flat". I find this useful if you are painting clothes on figures, canvas, etc. Addition of too much will produce a whitish sheen so use sparingly (however, this effect can be used to create a dried salt water spray illusion, if needed). gm0wnr
I am glad you asked that Bruno, coz I bought some thinking it was an undercoat type of thing and when I used it on the bare plastic , it went ike icing sugar, or flour and did'nt stick to the model, well live and learn. balbukerke
Well.. I know that is not a matt clear, and it is added to gloss paint, but I don't know how much to add to get a flat finnish. Thanks, Bruno Albuquerque
gregax
Or you can add a drop or two to future to make a nice semiflat finish....
Green-Meanie
Experiment, the more flat base you add the more matt the finish will be.
