mudrat
For Col. Its not all digital here, either. Digital illustration is more conducive to making prints For me, anyway. I was sitting outside of the AQ shop and was trying to get this down as the Sun was going down. The Sun won.

Col.
Steve, that's something else Thanks for letting us see it. In a way I'm glad you left it at that point, it gives the forward fuselage considerable impact. The fact you used a ball-point pen only serves to increase my respect for you. Cheers man. mudrat
Fredrick, I did quite a few sketches back then, but only saved a few. Col., I favored the ballpoint pen as my drawing tool of choice for many years. I still do like it for control of tonal variations in formal drawings. Sometimes you have to use what's available, too. On my last cruise ('82-'83) on the America all I had available for sketching was a grease pencil and lined paper. I have 6 of these pictures framed up on the wall, here, at present. (don't get me wrong, though, I had my Airbrush, Watercolors, Oils, brushes & 2 Canvas with me, too, and did use them).
