Canopy In Future before or after paint?

I am building a P-38. The canopy has a frame which is to be painted the color of the plane. Should I use the future method of shining the canopy, then paint the frame, or paint then dip in future?

What I do is "Futurize" the Canopy, mask, paint, remove mask.

If you "Futurize" paint, it will become shiny (a major drag unless you're doing your P-38 in Bare Metal FInish)

Option #3: don't Future. It makes clear parts unrealistically transparent and rather toylike, IMO - the real things get scratched and scraped and smeared with paint from pilots helmets. Un-dipped canopies simulate this rather well.

If you insist on dipping it, though, do it before masking/painting the canopy.

It's a matter of personal taste, but I wouldn't use it on any clear parts - military or civil, prop or jet. It makes them too shiney, too clear for my tastes.

Yeah, it's all based on preference. I actually never weather my aircraft at all, so I don't mind using future on the canopies. I like to make them look as clean and new as possible.
