  1. BTW...if you want solid non-biased updates each day, then follow Dr John Campbell in the UK. He provides medical advice to help beat this virus as well and daily situational update of this virus and it's progress globally. He has been featured on various US networks. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCF9IOB2TExg3QIBupFtBDxg
  2. Once they built the hospital in 1 week in Wuhan, it was obvious this was not being spread from eating bats, because not that many people could be eating bats. Once it spread to the first country beyond China, that was proof this virus could visit any country.
  3. In my city the homeless shelters are closed. The soup kitchens and foodbanks are also closed, so the drug addicts are now camping on the sidewalks and the police have stepped up patrols in the downtown core. These drug addicts have compromised immune systems and live in close quarters and will not survive this virus.
  4. I saw the UK lockdown speech and I was quite relieved the herd immunity idea was abandoned. The excellent South Korean model was an excellent one to follow. Good grief, no creative thinking involved, just copy South Korea. The UK and North America were some of the last countries to be hit by the tsunami of this virus. Wuhan was locked down Jan 23 (2 months ago). When that happened and 5 million people spread from Wuhan to other parts of China, that was when other governments should have been checking their stock piles of PPE and shift into a quiet panic mode. When China built
  5. Damn....that is insanely well done. Did I mention I post all types of models to ARC....Car, motorbikes...Armor etc. It is no longer just aircraft.
  6. I've been following this story online....you are making excellent progress.
  7. Well I was spending $200 a month on gas. I figure the lower prices are saving me $50 a month...which is probably enough to offset the exchange rate on hobby purchases. Gas prices did hit $1.56 a liter in late February....it was $1.17 yesterday.
  8. I wonder how long before the locals in small communities start setting up roadblock blocking cars from entering their small communities?
  9. I'm happy to pay CDN $1.17 for a liter...$1.43 a gallon sounds like some weird fantasy world.
  10. Very good point, I never thought of that angle regarding automation. Your points about automation are quite valid. Automation has cut back on many assembly line jobs and kept the first world countries competitive. I recall watching a CnC video of a cylinder head being cut from a block of metal for a high end car....it was quite the sight to see and much quicker than a skilled machinist trying to do the same task.
  11. I saw a video on youtube by a trucker complaining about this very thing. Lack of food and bathrooms on the highway as businesses close down due to the virus. Like everyone else, truckers will need to adjust to the new reality. I do think people hoarding TP and all other items must piss off the truckers as they try their best to keep us fed and safe. Too many people in the general public have no respect for truckers.
  12. I do not for a second buy into the line that this is directed against Chinese....Mainland China or more specifically the CCP? Definately. This pandemic has royally screwed over many individuals personal finances and it will take years to recover and some will lose everything (restaurant owners etc). No one will pull out of the US because the virus comes to the USA.....no one is abandoning Italy because of their current nightmare. I do not feel companies will pull manufacturing back to the USA....but other developing countries will be chosen over China
  13. Even China admits to this and they are pivoting their economy to be more for internal consumerism. Which is what the western countries were before.....remember Made in USA....Made in England etc. China knows that their increasing standard of living is making them less attractive than India and Vietnam etc. This is not something new, but I suspect the general anger over this virus against China will cause countries to look elsewhere if the price is the same.
  14. But gas is cheaper in Canada now. That should balance things out for ya.
  15. I suspect countries will distance themselves from China in the future. It looks like India will be the next supplier of factory workers.
  16. My fear is the next one will be much worse. Always the optimist...that's me.
  17. This is good news...I hope it works out for you.
  18. You could be very right maybe the season flu is worse. But current numbers on this virus are cause for sober reflection. If 70% of the USA gets this virus and only 2% die 327,000,000 X 0.70 X 0.02 = 4,578,000....that is 4.5 million Americans. 2% death rate According to this website https://covid19info.live/ the worldwide death rate is 4.4% 327,000,000 X 0.70 X 0.044 = 10,071,600....that is 10 million Americans. 4.4% death rate. This number is optimistic considering China was not testing people for the virus that died at home etc.
  19. I feel the same way...as long as I get really mild symptoms....but it is a bit of a crap shoot.
  20. Western reporters (American?) have also recently been kicked out of China for reporting the news. I did not understand how 5 million could leave Wuhan before the lockdown but very few cases spread to the rest of China. I do not trust anything that comes out of the CCP.
  21. In Canada all post secondary quickly switched to online teaching and classes continue.
  22. I have gotten the feeling this is what they plan to do in the UK. Folks that are older or have suppressed immune systems really need to remove themselves from society in the UK until the virus is gone or until a vaccine is available. Sadly this does mean a possible 600,000 dead in the UK until herd immunity is achieved.
  23. This is because they know the nightmare that is coming.
  24. Good luck to you and your wife...I am not a doctor. but from what I have read, I would say you have the Covid-19 virus. I'm just waiting to get the virus myself and hoping it is a mild case of it. If there are 350,000,000 in the USA and if 70% get infected and if 2% die.....that comes out to over 5 million people will die. Numbers like that are impossible to wrap my mind around.
