I was blaming Book Depository in the UK for the CC fraud I was hit with so I guess I owe them an apology. I apparantly ordered $50 worth of pizza then was flying somewhere on British Airways on Friday night - total of over $2000 in 2 transactions (plus compulsory $1 trial). SO I guess I now know it's courtesy of Hannants. Might send them a nastygram as well.

Currently I am a hoarder but I want it to be a builder! Unfortunately life (aka wife, 2 1/2 yr old daughter, work, 2 dogs, 1 rabbit, and three birds) gets in the way.

Jennings, I disagree. I believe that Trumpeter expecialy cops extra heat because they are Chinese. If you look at the comments, particularly on HS, they are very much about 'CHICOM' stuff. I have pointed out the same things as have been mentioned here about the different responses to faults and I get called 'an apologist'. If you look at the treatment that companies such as Tamiya, Classic Airframes and the like get they are very mcuh different from the fire and brimstone that get rained down on Trumpeter and the other Chinese Companies.

Isaac, I took them when I was deployed to East Timor in 2002. There was the Mi-26 and an Mi-8 (or Mi-17 ???) contracting for the UN at the time. I had a few trips in the aircraft and took the images as Suai. It's a big beastie!

Tank, your correct, that is the little room for the loadmasters. John, the pilots of the Mi-8 and -26 in East Timor were well known for their 'relaxed' ways. If you check out the images I have of the cockpit you will see the 'duty Free' bag, it usualy contained alcohol. I have seen the video of the Mi-26 bouncing (literally) a ASLAV armoured car over a mountain range because they couldn't be bothered going high enough!

For those interested I have added all my images of the Mi-26 from East Timor to photobucket at the link below: http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v245/Harvs73/mI-26/

This should make life a bit easier. Hopefully this link will take you to the album of all my Mi-26 images. As I said previously, these are all my images so please use correctly. http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v245/Harvs73/mI-26/ As an aside, these images were also used by a computer game company a few years ago to use in a PC game of some sort.

This is a messy way of doing this but here is what you are after: These are all my images and I do have more.

As said above, FS34092 is a good start. In reality the original colour started out very dark and faded due to the tropical climate it operated in. You could use anything around that hue for the aircraft.
-
Or just go to www.aussiemodeller.com and do a search on the forum there. There has bee extensive discussions over time about that colour at AMI.

These images should get you a start on what you are after. Whilst I didn't take photos directly of the floor (walls, roof etc mainly) I did capture it a bit in the background.

Josh, as has been said previously, the biggest difference is the wings. This is correctable, depending on how much you are willing to spend you could buy the Red Roo conversion set for the kit. It is pricey at close to $50. Red Roo also does decals for a variety of different RAAF aircraft. The other option in 1/48 is the Special Hobby kit, this can be painful depending on how your modelling skills are. http://www.aussiemodeller.com/pages/Review...rvsSpit_Vc.html The other option is dependant on how much the accuracy of the model is to you. Can you tell the difference and do you care? If you

Nice looking Mi-26. I had the joy of being moved around East Timor in one of those monsters. The whole fueslage shakes when the rotor starts turning. I was contemplating getting one of these kits to model that aircraft but where to fit it???? Thats me in front of the Mi-26.

Alas I would have posted them sooner but I don't get to ARC much these days as for some reason it dislikes my logon. But anyway, hopefully the following two images may be of help:

These might be of interst as well. They are off the aircraft that was in East Timor in 2002. I have more of this particular aircrafts interior and exterior.
