  1. Depends on what you want to do after the decals go on. If you want to use some sort of wash (to bring out recessed detail, panel lines, etc.) the order would be slightly different. Gloss coat, place decals, gloss coat again, apply wash, (it will spread easier with a gloss coat) then use the dull coat. As to what products to use for your gloss coat and dull coat, that's a whole 'nother discussion.
  2. Definitely the MM Chrome Silver. It does really stand out.
  3. I have to agree with several of the previous posters. I've used Reefer White for over ten years and have never seen any need to use anything else. I've thinned it with both xylene and lacquer thinner with great results. But if you use xylene (or lacquer thinner for that matter) use a respirator: it's dangerous stuff.
  4. I combine the airbrush with a wide brush: if I end up with any puddles I simply use the brush and the surface even right up.
  5. That's looking great. I can't wait to see some more in progress photos.
  6. No, they were pressed paper. Certainly saved on metal. And the German drop tanks often had stenciling on them indicating they were not bombs ("Keine Bombe!") and to return them to the proper authorities so they could be reused.
  7. Thanks for mentioning the Cutting Edge 1/48 CFTs. I'll have to go take a look at those. Best of luck getting those manufactured.
  8. I think you're being kind of modest; those look great. I do hope they get produced, but I'm more inclined to build in 1/48 scale. Maybe they'll come out in 1/72 first and then 1/48. Now that I say that, does anyone make the CFTs in 1/48 already? I realize I haven't really looked around for any.
  9. "hey ken you know what other new jet releases Superscale have done if any?" from Mungo earlier. SuperScale also has released sheets 48-904 and 905 for the Sword T-38A including Orca markings and at least one plane in the grape sceme. Here is a thread from Hyperscale that has some images of the decals as well: http://disc.server.com/discussion.cgi?id=1...e;show_parent=1
