Sure, you might think this is could be a FUJI T-2 or a Jaguar, but no. When I get this completed I'll show the basic steps I used to do this bird. I'm doing screen grabs whilst I create this, the most cool, of the flying beasts. BTW, this will be a C model in SEA camo.

The pilot was against the idea of showing stressed skin at first, but when taken in context (and the fact that there is very little detail between the cockpit & tail to give the bird some character) he finally approved. I have a G model on the back burner at present, with the statue of liberty tail markings and gulf war I camo scheme. Now, all I need to do is find the time. Regards, Stephen

Neu is basically correct, Navy 1 is the first aircraft (Navy or otherwis) in which a sitting president made an arrested carrier landing (trap). Stephen

Art is where you make it. Looks really nice. How about doing some more sketching? The great thing is that it costs nothing to do, and you can derive as much satisfaction (if not more) from creating it as you can from modeling. Don't get me wrong, I love modeling (maybe too much), but I can create via my medium, that which I cannot easily obtain in kit form. And it looks even better, matted and framed on the wall. On my first Indy cruise (actually it was the 1st set of work-ups) VS-28's S-3As looked like this before the marking changes came down.

Blunosers352nd, I find /alter or create an accurate set (to me, anyway) of line drawings, and use these as a foundation for my profile. I usually scan these into Photoshop as the 2nd layer of the illustration on the 3rd layer I create a solid fill shape that is the fuselage profile. Control Surface/Panel Lines are masked, then drawn, burned or painted after the highlights and shadows of the fuse. shape are well established. You can adjust the opacity level of each layer to see the layer (s) below to use as a masking or placement guide. but the painted layer has to be opaque for accu

I prefer Photoshop for 2D digital airbrushing, specifically. I have 3D Studio, but have not taken the time to learn to use it. Illustrator is okay for line drawings & graphic art, but it is a limited tool for my needs. Stephen
