Not wanting to go into politics here, I think I read in another forum, that being in China, Trumpeter isn't able to get all the information it needs to make an accurate model. Remember the "Great Firewall of China". Not sure if this is true and if it is, how much it affects the research they do on a particular subject. Yet, it's truly remarkable that Trumpeter is humble enough to acknowledge it makes mistakes and ask the right people on how to correct them: their customers, some of which have a deep knowledge and resources to help them to make / correct what's needed to get a more accurate m

Same here... And if I can it's wrong without having someone pointing it out before, then it must be really bad. Like Mikey, I think the front side of the model is okay... The rear is waaaaay off. Ricardo

Thanks Jennings :( Got the FGR.2 today on the mail. Let's see what I can do with it. :( Ricardo

What about the earliest? 1988, 1989? Ricardo

Simple question (I hope)... OOB, the Revell 1/48 F-15E represents an Eagle from which time frame? (year x to year y). TIA, Ricardo

Sounds okay to me... madcow P.S. I'll try to be in

I guess that after Band of Brothers, expectations were high. I did like this first episode, but like all others... it fell short of expectations. Let's see what happens next week. Ricardo

Hi guys, is the cockpit on the British FGR.2 Phantom the same as in the FGR.1? I'm planning on building one from Hasegawa / Revell and I can't find any FGR.2 cockpit. Just the FGR.1 one from Aires. TIA, Ricardo

Thanks for the input, David. That will be REALLY helpful Ricardo

Thanks for the tip, but I want to build a US Navy one. One day, I'll do a Canadian CF-18. Ricardo
-
I haven't even opened the parts bags, but isn't the A cockpit different from the C version? Or are the parts for an A cockpit in the box? Also, is the CF-18 basically an F-18A? I don't really know much about the Hornet variants. Ricardo

David, thanks for the input. Is there any tutorial, magazine article, etc. that shows what to do to backdate it into an A-model? (not the A-model brand ). I really want to make it an 80's bird, when the Cold War was on. For a Hornet, the time frame is, say, 3 years. 87, 88, 89... Ricardo

Yeah, I don't think I can finish it in time, but I'll try Ricardo

I bought this model in January and have exactly one month to complete it so I can enter it in a model show here. I want to build this as an early C model during the late 80's when the cold war was on. Yet, I don't find any decals for it and I don't know how to convert this to an A model (lots of Superscale decals for that). Is there any decal sheet from that period that I might use? TIA, Ricardo

Sorry if this has been asked before, but I wasn't able to find anything about this using the "search" button. Which Hornet production blocks can I build with what's on the Academy 1/32 F/A-18C box? (Even if I need to get another type of seat in resin). Can the early C models be built (with early I mean 1987 - 1990 time frame)? TIA, Ricardo

I believe in you  Let's see how this turns out. I now have a 3 month's old German Shepherd puppy and it takes almost all my free time. Hard to work on a model with that "chewing machine" by my side Ricardo

Because that's what I read on the DACO book, the only one I have about the F-14. I assumed the information was correct. If it's not, then now I know Ricardo
-
According to the DACO book it's the GPS box... I don't know if you can put there other suff (like a screen to watch DVDs). Ricardo
-
Thanks Andy... This might sound a bit stupid, but... those numbers are millimeters, centimeter, inches? Ricardo
-
Roger that. I can scratchbuild one. It shouldn't be that hard. I even want to use the canopy closed Ricardo

I want to build my F-14D as a Bombcat. According to what I've read on the Daco book, there should be a GPS box over the RIO instrument console. I looked at the parts on the kit and I didn't find any. The manual doesn't mention anything. Did I miss the part on the sprues or is it not just there? TIA, Ricardo P.S. after reading some comments here on ARC about how underdetailed the Trumpeter cockpit is, I must disagree. Sure, a resin cockpit should be nicer, but comparing the panels and consoles with photos on the Daco book, I'd say that 95% of the buttons are there, even if some are a bit ove

It's an omission indeed (got mine from Hannants on the 31st of December, what a great way to finish 2009). Yet, I don't think that they'd be much visible on the finished model. The option is "scratch". It shouldn't be that hard. Ricardo

I'll also have to cut those tabs and add the smaller round one (or just shape the lower one). Ricardo

Here's the deal. I bought Hasegawa's 1/48 Bf109G-10 NJG 11 boxing. It's the one with the parts for a G-6/AS. I also bought MDC's G-6/AS conversion that's supposed to be everything you need to convert the G-10 into the G-6/AS. My question is this. This kit has the trims on the rudder. The G-6/AS I want to builld hasn't. Is there any conversion of the rudder or do I just need to sand down these trims? Basically I want to convert this type of rudder: Into this one: preferably without having to buy another kit just to cut the part TIA, Ricardo
