Hi everybody, does someone know if the decals of Eduards special edition are correct? The decals of the cards on the starboard side show a red color for the ace of spades and the clubs. Did they do this on purpose because of the red inner circle of the roundle? thanks and cherio!!!

Hello Flankerthink, I ordered two sets of the Intakes for me and M&M for our in progress thread. Mine came through within 4 workingdays but M&M's came through after more than 4 weeks and he had to pay taxes. Eventually, they always arrive. I think Chris receives about one zillion mails each day and he had to ship hundreds of sets to addresses all over the world so be patient :) Kind regards Laurens

I'll try to paint a few details tomorrow again. I had a few things other than scalemodelling on my mind last week :( I think I'll spray some blue on the fuselage at the location of the fwb. I still have to check if it all fits and the blue with the grey should shine a light :P Cheers! Laurens

Hi everybody, a few small pictures of the hinges of the vert tail fins. I'm pretty sure it is not 100% accurate but it's better than trumpeters suggestion I think :D It's not finished yet but we are getting close! :lol: Cheers! Laurens

Ola everybody, small question: are the air intakes on the vertical fins completely hollow or do you still see the vertical tail als a 'vertical splitter plate'? Cheers!

Small update on my Birthday! Quite easy to correct the vertical tails. The following took me about 5 minutes. I just have to clean and sand it up a little and add the new rivets. Cherio! ;) LS

Looking gooood!!! :D How about closing one fodguard and opening the other one? I know it's not possible in reallity (is it Flankerman? ;) ) Has the same effect as the burners of the Tomcats. Tamiya glossy aluminium with a sienna wash? Possible to use alclad's pale burned metal (can't remember the exact name but it has a brownyellowish shine) mixed with white aluminium? Cherio!! :blink:

Hi everybody, just a small picture to show the start of the blending process. Please note that the flash makes it a little too harsh. It is more subtle in reality. I have to repaint the boxes. I'm not a fan of the drybrush effect. Cherio! Laurens

Hmm, looking at the picture in more detail, I think the yellowishgreenbrown color is painted on it?? Have a look inside the hydrolics bay. This clearly shows the initial grey color :blink: So, using standard natural deduction, we can assume that if the sovjets were a little lazy, they would leave it grey Cherio!

Small update for today! I'll try to improve the quality of the pictures and to make them look more like actually seeing the aires pit in realtime. FWB is in progress too! I saw some pictures on the upandaway thread of a grey fwb. I think I'll go for grey instead of the mix of xf20 and xf59. More tomorrow! Cheers! Laurens

Well, lets face it! Zilion decalsheets hit the market and how many of those are actually used on a model? How many new and exotic sheet do we see at model shows? AMS for sure in our branch! Cherio!

It's just a way to expensive printer which can print colors on decal film (including white). Cherio!

I think I'll add some khaki and green colors too. I have to say that, when the cockpit is in the fuselage, the white wires really stand out in the dark pit. I'll try it tonight or tomorrow evening. Dutch too? Where is your flanker? :lol: Member of the ipms btw? Cherio!! ps: Going to Flanders next weekend?

Another one for today! I'll try to finish the wiring tomorrow. I used humbrol and water to paint the wires.....well, I have to admit it took a while before I discovered the mistake :huh: But they do mix....very shortly I didn't paint the wires completely because the shading of the black makes it stand out. Looks ok in realtime but not in the pictures :D Cherio!

Instrument panel is almost finished! Just a few corrections to do tonight (although it is far from perfect so I have to brush up on the detail painting). I'll also paint the wires and tubes of the pit. I think they used black, grey and white wiring. Cheers! LS
