Got my decals from Diego a little while ago and got 3 rolls of tamiya tape from Eric today. Awesome prizes guys!!!! Thanks so much for supporting the group build!!

i was afraid of it too! But its actually super easy. I just bought a rattle can of Tamiya Black and Tamiya White. Tamiya also makes a masking tape that is the exact width you need (fortunately i had some). before you paint anything else, spray the white first. it will take a few coats. let that dry for a couple hours, then mask the areas that you want to stay white. then a couple coats of black.... lets that dry then mask off. then paint the rest of the plane as usual!

Thanks! Decals are superscale sheet #48-791 I found them on sale at the hobby shop. They carrier paper was badly yellowed and some of the decals have been breaking apart in the water but so far it's working out okay!

are you trying to give me a heart attack at the young age of 23????? You just about did it!! The funny thing is the instructions for the decals do shown it as black white black white black so you almost had me!!! (good thing i did some research :))

Thanks for the comments!! the TS-30 is a half a shade lighter than the gloss aluminum and almost indistinguishable from the AS-12 BMF. Since TS-30 is easier to find in san antonio, i just use that. Thanks for the remind about the tail wheel doors, i would have forgotten!!

Considering i only paid $15 for a Tamiya F-84, i actually paid more for the Kinetic kit. I know i'm the exception though!

i had the same problem with tamiya acrylics a while back. 2 things i did to fix the problem are: 1) I decided to only use Tamiya thinner. This helps quite a bit but the paint is still fragile. 2) coat the paint with a few coats of future and let dry for a few hours. then you should be good to go!

I bought one of these recently and it's a pretty decent kit although not up to the standards to today's top maufacturers. Problems include: Oversized engraved panel lines Very thick plastic pebbly surface texture Fit is okay but not great Overall, I like it!

glue them back on? since its in a fairly hidden part of the cockpit, it shouldn't be too obvious
