Sent e-mail. Will take the JV44 Dual Combo if still available. Thanks. -
I wish I had found this thread before I placed an order with mykitsdirect.com My experience: I placed an order and got immediate e-mail confirmation with an invoice number and bill of sale. The e-mail also showed the last four of my CC, leading me to believe that it was a normal completed purchase. After a week and half or so, I logged into the site to look for a tracking number. I find that my order history is blank. Nothing. No indication that my confirmed order ever existed, so I fired off an e-mail asking what happened. No reply. Now I'm stuck with a company that 1) has my CC info,

I have one of the Harbor Freight ones. Ditched the magnifier, and use the alligator clips to hold modified clothes pins or soft plastic clips. Extremely useful that way.

Thanks Chuck!

My brain simply can't cope with what I saw on that thread. I'm going to pretend it was all just a very strange dream. -
F4U-1A Corsair big hog - sun bleach attempt
ElectricPhase replied to JAM's topic in The Display Case
First off, great job. However, since you specifically asked.... I just happen to be looking at some good reference photos of these birds right now. It's wonderful to have shots of the upper wing surfaces for a change! The one thing I noticed (which is the exact opposite of geedubelyer's comment, sorry) is how splotchy and uneven these birds look. Different panels and surfaces faded at different rates, and no two of them look alike...or even similar. They're also filthy. You can see rain streaks and footprints in the accumulated filth on the upper wing surface on many of them. Yours -
That's insanely good!

Sweet! That one just got saved to my scrapbook. I'll attempt it one day when my skills are up to it.

Chuck, I can't thank you enough for posting. I'm learning so much from this thread....now for the courage to actually try some of this stuff!

I usually avoid cluttering up threads with "attaboy" posts, but I'm learning so much from this thread that I have to say thanks!

What did you get at the Hobby Shop today?
ElectricPhase replied to Matt Shropshire's topic in General Discussion
Another Hobby Lobby moment...a Tamiya 1/350 Missouri marked at $20.99. I was almost embarrassed walking up to the register with it because I figured it had to be a mistake. Nope. The cashier didn't even flinch. Now I have to buy a couple hundred in aftermarket for it. -

Gosh, Hobby Lobby is weird. I stop at my local one every other week or so. I usually don't buy anything, but I know their stock of plastic kits inside and out. Well, today I check the clearance section and they have the Hasegawa 1/32 Fw190A-8 marked at $10.79. They never had it at regular price. Ever. :) It was the only one....and yes, I bought it.
