airforce_mike
Hi guys, I would like to show you my latest work - two little tabletops with the 1/144 scale Macchi C.200 AS (Africa Settentrional) from Sweet... :D Here they come: The first one shows a plane of 364 ° Squadriglia, 150 ° Gruppo Autonomo in northern africa from 1942 - the wooden planks are made from painted and drybrushed matches The vegetation was made from a model-railroad grass mat, painted and drybrushed with enamels and using pastel chalks... Start the engine....just by blowing on it... Edited December 9, 2007 by airforce_mike
airforce_mike
The second model shows a plane of 85 ° Squadriglia, 18 ° Gruppo Autonomo in Lybien, likewise in 1942... On both models the complete camouflage is made from decals - however, all around the engine-cowlings I have worked with a paintbrush because the decals won´t work with the numerous cylinder head cases... The figure comes from the Preiser set (WWII 1:144), the barrels were taken from my N model-railroad... Both models got a scratchbuilt cockpit but there´s noting left to see... :D Greets to all you 1/72 scale heroes with this picture.... :D :D And the last one from above... Hope you like it! airforce_mike
Many thanx, guys... Are the smoke rings decals or did you paint them? John, the smoke rings are complete decals as you can see here: http://www.sweetaviationmodels.com/14106MacchiTrop.html I painted the rings only around the cowlings and did some "repairs" all around...
