VresiBerba
I'm looking to build a Yamaha FZR1000 for a friend for his birthday, and I'm wondering if this bike has ever been released in any scale, the bigger the better, in plastic. If not, are there any diecast models or anything that I can work with, because you see, his bike is a Yamaha FZR1000 '89 with a '91 front.

RotorheadTX
The closest you are going to get is the Tamiya FZR-750R (OW01) - which is pretty much the same thing. I was a Yammy enthusiast back in that time period, and IIRC, the bikes were visually identical - just changes to bore and stroke were made. http://www.zootoyz.jp/en-us/dept_18.html Scroll down about half the page to #58. GlennCauley
The closest model you will get to an 1989 FZR1000 is indeed the 1:12 Tamiya FZR750R (OW01). HOWEVER, there are quite a few differences between the bikes such as: Frame, fairing, headlights, fender, ram air intakes & air tubes, fuel tank, swingarm, tail section, seat. Sorry... (and the R1 is a totally different bird altogether)
Wege
From memory the 0W01 was a homologation machine for the F1 motorcycle racing series? (or was it the WSB at that point?)
Todd
The FZR750 OW01 was the homologation model for WSB. The kit represents an 88' model. First year of the 1000 was 89' and these 2 bikes are nowhere close to being the same. There has never been a FZR1000 in plastic. The YFZ1000 is a 98' an generations different from FZR and it also doesn't have a GENESIS head which the 750/1000 have There also is no R6,R7, or R1 so good luck in your quandry.
