rotorwash
I thought some of you might be interested in the helo models on display at the Warner Robins Air Force Museum last weekend. The theme was Vietnam and there were some great looking helos. Ray Here's an overview. As you can see, helos were well represented this year. Here are a few built by our own Gary Schmidt (Centaur567): Other nice models: IMHO, this gem was one of the nicest helos at the contest, and indeed, one of the nicest I have seen. This beauty is 1/72! If someone knows who built it, I'd love to hear some details. It looks to be the Italeri kit with either CC 540 rotor or parts from another kit. Also, I assume the engine, radio compartment, and some interior details are from the CMK resin sets. Really nice work. Edited October 31, 2010 by rotorwash
Loach Driver
Thanks for sharing the photos, Ray. That UH-1C is very nice indeed. Nothing beats a neat little rotary-wing diorama. LD.
Tank
Which one's are yours?
rotorwash
I brought a few for display only, but I don't take pics of my builds at contests. Besides, there were so many others that were much nicer. Ray

Ray So the AH-1W, AH-64, OH-6 and AH-1 between Gary's birds are not yours?
rotorwash
So the AH-1W, AH-64, OH-6 and AH-1 between Gary's birds are not yours? Actually, that entire back row are Gary's birds. He brought a bunch for display only to help boost the helo representation, but there were so many helos we had to move them to a separate display table with my builds later on. Gary is a prolific builder! Ray Here are a few more closeups of some of Gary's builds: And a few more from other builders: There were also some very nice 1:1 helos! Eurofighter2
what happened to the blades? which way does that rotor turn?
Ishthe47guy
I thought the same thing. The blade that points to the upper left corner of the picture is the only one that is correct. Still a nice build, though.
Longbow Mech
Yikes! those blades are killing me! someone has to contact this guy and tell him about this. Brock
