Tankcommander Posted September 12, 2012 Share Posted September 12, 2012 Dragon just announced another Allied heavy weight. The US Army T-28 is on the way 4 sets of tracks and all. It is on PMMS. Looks like another must buy for me. I saw it in Fort Knox at the Patton Museum, it has since been relocated to Fort Benning. Only 2 were built. All were thought lost when one was found in the woods on Fort Knox. At last we Allied modelers are getting some of the unusal tanks and prototypes that the German fans have been getting for years. It would definately play into a Wehrmacht 46 theme fighting E100s and Panther 2s or a Maus. Escorted by Easy 8 Shermans and Super pershings. Wege Posted September 12, 2012 Share Posted September 12, 2012 My theory for this plethora of experimental and short run tanks being released relently (The German VK lines, this T28/T95) etc I think is due to the hugely popular MMO game "World of Tanks". It is all good too :D Now you can make/model your Vk2801 AND scream around online in a virtuality :) Be interesting to see some of the Object series from Russia - (704, 701, 281 etc) I am aware of some of the not too well known ones in 1/144 resin (kami-de-koro? etc) Quote Link to post Share on other sites

They're about to release the 8.0 patch which will revolutionise the game with new graphics & physics. Been playing on the test server and running around in the T28 Prototype. Boy, what a beast of a Tank Destroyer. The proto is the turreted version which I prefer myself (more traverse) but the production T28 is HUGE. It's a turtle of a tank and hard to penetrate frontal. Would be great to see it in scale. Build an M4 or an Easy 8 in scale is fun enough. Quote Link to post Share on other sites
